Back in high school, my buddy and I went hiking. We were outside of Bellingham in an area called Oyster Dome. At least that’s what I remember. It was like 20+ years ago. 😅 Anyways, we were hiking with these heavy backpacks full of essential gear, and a few hours into the hike, it started raining and snowing. We kept on going, hoping our campground was coming soon. Unfortunately, all we were getting was tired and wet, and it felt like the campsite didn’t exist.
So we gave up. We started looking for a place to turn into a campsite. Off the beaten path, we went and found an adequate place to call home for the night. After we set up the tent, we needed to make a fire to cook our food. However, the wood was so wet that we spent the next few hours chopping the outer layer of wood until we reached the semi-dry core. Once we got the fire going, we cooked some water to have cup-o-noodles. Ah, the days of MSG-ridden food.
The next morning, the weather was beautiful. I was starting to forget the terrible night of sleep that I had just had. We began packing up and heading on our way.
WE WALKED FOR 10-15MIN AND THE CAMPGROUND WAS RIGHT THERE!!!
All we had to do was go a LITTLE FURTHER!!!!!!!!!! It was right around the corner.
Playing guitar can feel like you will never get there. Sometimes you just have to go a LITTLE FURTHER 😀
