Rhythm Game

Home » Resources » Games » Rhythm Game

You don’t need to have an instrument to play. Your opponent can clap the part. This is a fun way for parents to join in.

This is a great game for learning how to hear rhythm. Start with Whole, Half, and Quarter notes. Strum the rhythm on any chord while you count a full measure or bar of 4/4 and see if your opponent can guess it. If they get it right they get a point. If they get it wrong you get a point. Go back and forth until the first person gets 5 points. To make it harder play a combination of the notes. Refer to pages 18-21 if you need help.

Here is a combination of two-quarter notes and a half note. What would that sound like if you played or clapped it?

Here’s a link to a website with a randomizer for your note combinations.
